Westfield Middle School names students of the month
WESTFIELD — On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: 1. Follows Westfield’s Rules of Respect for staff and peers; 2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; 3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes; 4. Serves as a positive role model for peers; 5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of January.
At the sixth grade level, Haleigh Dellow was named Student of the Month. In school, Haleigh likes all of her classes. She likes ELA because she enjoys reading, health, because of the projects, and technology, because she can use her imagination to create structures. She enjoys all sports, especially basketball, and she loves spending time with her dog, Baby. Haleigh hopes to become an engineer, or perhaps a professional chef, or even run her own dog rescue business some day.
Rachel Eggleston (not pictured) earned this award for seventh grade. Rachel enjoys ELA because she likes reading and writing. As a hobby, she likes horseback riding and being around animals. In the future, Rachel would like to become a veterinarian.
At the eighth grade level, Cooper Harris was selected as Student of the Month. In school, his favorite class is science because he likes the hands-on lab work. He loves winter sports, like hockey and snowboarding, and some day, Cooper hopes to become an aerospace engineer for Boeing and live in Seattle.
The Westfield School and community offer their congratulations to these outstanding students.
