Jamestown Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter inducts new members
JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Alpha Kappa Beta, inducted new members recently on the Jamestown Campus.
Phi Theta Kappa, the national two-year college honor fraternity, has chapters on the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses. A student must achieve at least a 3.50 grade point average to be considered for induction and must have two faculty recommendations.
Daniel Heitzenrater, executive assistant in the Chautauqua County Executive’s Office and a 2011 JCC alumnus, was the guest speaker. The ceremony was attended by nearly 200 friends and family members of the inductees.
Local inductees included: from Dunkirk: Sydney Bajdas and Kimberly Yannie; from Fredonia: Denise Crofoot, Randall Howlett, and Marina Kessler; from Lily Dale: Alan Jones; from Perrysburg: Jessi Dankert; from Sinclairville: Jeffrey McSkimming; from South Dayton: Philip Salzman and Anderson Wittenbrook; from Stockton: Hillary Berggren and from Westfield: Jamie Pacanowski.
