CIAO picnic Aug. 5 in Russell Joy Park

The CIAO (Chautauqua Italian-American Organization) annual picnic will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at noon in Russell Joy Park, Upper Pavilion. Curious about CIAO? Come on out and join the fun — sausage and hot dogs, raffles, bocce, and lots more! New members are welcome and encouraged to join us — bring the family. All are asked to bring a dish to share, their own place setting, and a beverage. Coffee and water available.

Admission to the picnic is a donation of 4 to 5 items of food. The Mission has asked for small jars or cans of tuna, jelly or peanut butter, pasta sauce, and mayonnaise, all available for $1 each at the Dollar Tree store on Bennett Road, or if you choose to make a monetary donation of $5 to be donated to the Willow Mission and as always, young children are free!

Members: Annual dues are payable at the picnic for the coming year — $10 person; $15 couple; $20 family.

A head count is needed for the hot dogs and sausage, so if planning to attend — new member or old — RSVP to either Nance Ortolano at 673-9177, Vince DeJohn at 934-3339, Sam Crisanti at 934-2592, or ciaosecetary@gmail.com.

Other activities: Aug. 12 – Fredonia Italian Festival — Ancestry at Barker Library noon until 2 p.m.; Sept. 14 at 6 p.m., Games and pizza night at St. Joseph Church, Main Street, Fredonia; Oct. 9, Columbus/Harvest Dinner at 6 p.m., St. Joseph Church, Main Street, Fredonia; Dinner Play — Murder Mystery, date to be announced; December — Christmas luncheon.
