Hidden treasures Tent Sale

A huge hidden treasures tent sale will take place on Aug. 18 and 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., held by Trinity UCC, 30 Erie Ave., Gowanda. The sale will feature furniture, vintage and mid-century items, linens, glassware and dishes, Christmas items, toys, pictures, plants and bake sale. Hot dogs and drinks will be available. Proceeds will be donated.

Take Route 39 or Route 62 to East Main Street (near the police station), make a right on Erie Avenue. The tent is across from Trinity UCC.

Conewango Valley United Methodist Church

The Conewango Valley United Methodist Church, 5517 Church St., would like to invite all to a Sunday morning of worship and fellowship. Children’s Sunday school is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. every Sunday, with the worship service with lay servant, Carl Isler to follow at 9:30 a.m. Any questions about the worship service or Sunday school, call 640-8804 or 296-1005.

On Sunday, Aug. 20 from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m., the Conewango Valley United Methodist Church will hold its Children’s Sunday School Kick-off. Ages 3 and up are welcome. It will include Bible stories, movies, games, plays, singing, crafts, Bible book store and lots more.

Children are invited to bring their Bibles and friends. The church is located at 5517 Church St.

On Sunday, Aug. 27, church members invite the public to join in for a community summer picnic at noon. Guests are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own chairs. The picnic will be held at Conewango Valley Park, located next to the church.

Blueberry Social Flea Market planned for Aug. 19

A Blueberry Social Flea Market will take place on Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the East Otto United Methodist Church, 7890 E. Flats Road, East Otto. The event will feature Celtic music by the Everheart Band. A variety of foods including Wendel’s chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, blueberry crisp and shortcake will be available. There is also a take out option. A bake sale is also planned.

Kids Night and Vacation Bible School

The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 East Route 20, Westfield will hold a Kids Fun Night on Sunday, Aug. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. for ages 3 to 11. It will feature the inflated obstacle course, inflated dartboard, food, and a DVD. Then from Monday, Aug. 14 through Wednesday, Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. there will be Vacation Bible School with the theme “Galactic Starveyors — Discovering the God of the Universe.” VBS will be for ages 3 through 11 with Bible lessons, crafts, sports, music, prizes, and refreshments.

Fredonia Food Pantry

On Saturday, Aug. 19, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size. Donations of food may be made directly to the Rural Ministry.

“Neighbors 2 Warriors” meets Thursdays

“Neighbors 2 Warriors” meets every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Neighbors 2 Restaurant, 560 Orchard, Cherry Creek. Members of the public are invited to meet for a morning of Christian conversation, fellowship and breakfast.

South Dayton United Methodist Church to hold giant rummage sale

South Dayton United Methodist Church will hold a giant rummage sale Friday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 34 Maple St, South Dayton. There will be a bake sale both days. On Saturday, a bag sale starts at noon. Proceeds benefit the Missions Fund for the South Dayton Methodist Church.
