Anderson-Lee Library announces fall programming
SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. in Silver Creek, has announced its next scheduled programming. In addition to a number of special events, ongoing features will be offered. When registration is required, stop by the library, call 934-3468, or register online at www.andersonleelibrary.org. All of the programs are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
Ongoing programs for those 18 and younger
Each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. through Nov. 16 and Nov. 30 through Dec. 14, Miss Helen will hold a Storytime. There will be reading, singing, rhymes, and fun crafts. This program is for children ages 2 to 5. Children under 3 1/2 will need a parent/caregiver present. Registration is required.
LEGO Club will be held the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For ages 5 to 12. Registration is required. Dates for the fall are Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5.
Teen Book Club will be held the third Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For ages 13 to 18. Registration is required. On Oct. 17, members will discuss “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan. Teens are responsible for bringing snacks to share and the library will provide drinks, paper goods, and a list of discussion questions.
Programs for all ages
World Octopus Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 4:30 p.m. Stories and crafts for all ages will be shared and registration is required.
Make a Bluebird House! On Thursday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m., Diane Clark from Greystone Bird, Butterfly, and Bat Sanctuary and local Bluebird expert John Ruska will present a program on the importance of this New York State Bird and will also bring supplies to make a birdhouse. All ages are invited to participate in this fun event. Registration is required.
Come and play with thumbprint art ala Ed Emberley. Create fun artwork and use our new button machine! Fun for all ages on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m. Registration is required.
The Second Annual Trick or Read will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 4:30 p.m. Families of all ages are invited to the library for Halloween themed stories, games, and crafts. Every child will receive a free gift of a book. Come in costumes! Registration is required.
Classic Film Series: Those 18+ are invited to bring a bag lunch and watch a movie at the library on the third Friday of the month at 12:30 p.m. “Creature from the Black Lagoon” is scheduled for Oct. 20, “Modern Times” is scheduled for Nov. 17 and “There’s no Business like Show Business” will show on Dec. 15. Free and open to the public.
Novels After Noon and Novels at Night: This book club for adults 18+ meets the first Monday of the month at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Call the library for Oct. 2, Nov. 6, and Dec. 4 titles. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
