MAYVILLE — Benjamin Prescott Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their summer picnic on Aug. 10 at the home of Deborah Cenni of Mayville.

Many homemade treats were enjoyed by all, as everyone brought a dish to pass. A surprise was also arranged for the birthday girl, Janice Weitz, 96 years young. A bakery cake was enjoyed by all in celebration.

The next meeting will be Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at the McClurg Museum in Westfield.

If you had an ancestor that fought for freedom in the Revolutionary War and would like to join the DAR, call Dawn Ubaney at 679-1218 for more information.
