Ripley United Methodist Church breakfast today

Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St., is hosting an All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast today, Sept. 9 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7 for “all you can eat.”

This month’s breakfast will benefit Ripley’s Love Bear Project.

September Fair today for Laona United Methodist

Today, Sept. 9, The Laona United Methodist Church at the corner of Wilson Road and Porter Avenue in Fredonia will be having a huge yard sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a Weidner’s chicken barbecue 4 to 6:30 p.m. for $10 per person. There will also be baked goods and hot dogs for sale 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Kids Korner with crafts, games and face painting, a prayer tent for those who may be seeking a quiet place to talk with Our Lord or have a conversation with Pastor Mike. First United Methodist Church of Westfield announces fall schedule

Beginning Sept. 10, the schedule for the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, 101 E. Main St, will be:

Sundays:

8:30: Praise & PowerPoint Worship (Gibbs Parlor)

9:30: Sunday School for all ages

10:45 Worship (Sanctuary)

Coffee Fellowship (Fellowship Hall)

Food Pantry: Tuesday 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Westfield Community Kitchen: Monday and Friday 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Wednesday 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Church of the Living Spirit announces speaker

This week’s speaker at Church of the Living Spirit is Jewel Rozanski. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Card Party Wednesday

The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Joseph’s Church will hold its monthly dessert card party at 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the Gathering Room of the church, at 145 E. Main St., Fredonia. Christian Rock Band ‘Reign’ plans free concert Sept. 15

The Christian Rock Band “Reign” will host a free concert at the Fredonia High School, 425 E. Main St., Fredonia on Friday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The theme is “Who Holds the Reins in Your Life?” The purpose is trying to reach the youth of today with the message of the Gospel through music and word.

Pillar of Fire Fellowship Movie Night set for Sept. 16

The Pillar of Fire Fellowship is excited to invite the public to view the movie “Fireproof” on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. This movie is about a firefighter who uses a 40-day experiment called “The Love Dare” to save his marriage. This event is open to the public at no charge and popcorn and pop will be provided. Pillar of Fire Fellowship is located at 221 Lake Shore Drive West, in Dunkirk, which is the former American Legion Frank Acquavia Memorial Post 1344.

St. John’s United Church of Christ plans chicken and biscuits dinner

St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a chicken and biscuits dinner on Saturday, Sept. 16. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Parking is off Eagle Street. Call 366-0710 for reservations. Pre-sale tickets are $9.50, or tickets at the door, $10. Take outs are available. Presale/reservations are HIGHLY recommended.

Priest Appreciation Dinner set

The 19th Annual Priest Appreciation Dinner will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Holy Trinity Church, Msgr. Bernardo Hall, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. This annual event honors priests, deacons, religious sisters and seminarians for their service to the Church and the community.
