Upcoming events at the Darwin R. Barker Library

The Darwin R. Barker Library of Fredonia has announced the following upcoming events:

Join us on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, as we make an exciting addition to YOUR public library!

Community members Dr. Jon and Priscilla Titus will give a talk about the value of native/perennial gardens and answer any questions you might have about our new garden plan.

Because this is an all ages event and children are encouraged to attend, we’ll read some fun stories about pollinators and the magic of gardens.

Then, the public is invited to help plant our new native garden! Tools will be provided as will light refreshments. No registration is necessary.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m, Cris Johnson presents New York Spirits.

See strange artifacts, learn about spiritualist powers and hear stories of maddeningly scary events!

Hear tales of spirits who supposedly haunt Shea’s Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, Fort William Henry Museum, the Utica Lunatic Asylum, the Red Coach Inn of Niagara Falls and other places. Learn about the Fox Sisters who were at the forefront of spirit communication, the truth about the Amityville Horror house, and more. New York Spirits is recommended for adults and teens age 12 and up.

No registration necessary.

Join in for family-friendly Halloween fun at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14
