Walk set for child abuse awareness

On Sept. 30, The Child Advocacy Program (CAP) will host the 4th annual Step Up For Kids 5K Run/Walk at Cassadaga Beach. CAP’s mission is to end child abuse in Chautauqua County, and when abuse occurs, CAP coordinates a community response to bring healing, hope, and justice to these children and families. The Step Up for Kids Run is an awareness event to raise funds to support CAP’s counseling and advocacy programs, prevention training, forensic interviews and medical evaluations. CAP has two offices, one at 405 W. Third St., Jamestown and another at 40 E. Main St., Fredonia.

CAP encourages community members to register for the 5KRun/Walk or attend the event to show support and learn about the mission and services. Register online at capjustice.org or call CAP at 338-9846. Race day registration begins at 9 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 10 a.m. There will also be a Kids’ Hero Run at 11:15 a.m.
