Mention Mr. Robert Brown to anybody at Fredonia Central School District, and the response is an immediate smile and heart-felt warm reply, ‘He’s such a great teacher, advocate, coach, and person!’ Whether you’re a teacher, parent, or a student athlete, Brown has touched, and improved, your life in some way. Brown has been a Speech Language Pathologist at Fredonia Central Schools for the past 20 years. He has worked at both Wheelock Primary School and Fredonia Elementary School, assisting students with articulation and language concerns, social skills, listening techniques, and many, many other skills. Brown works in collaboration with the special education department and goes on community outreach trips, riding the Campus bus with the students to Walmart, the college, Tops, and other stops around town.

Brown has also stepped in to coach high school football and modified girls’ soccer, as well as hiking along with our middle school students for several years as they experience the Quest adventure in eighth grade. Brown’s positive attitude, giving nature, and mentoring wisdom is well known in the Fredonia community. He has encouraged our students to ‘give back’ to our town by volunteering at downtown Festivals, painting village benches, and washing the Fredonia Trolley. He is always ready to lend a hand when needed and does so with a smile and warm blend of kindness, grace, and class.

It is without hesitation that Fredonia Central School District is choosing to showcase Robert Brown as the next Outstanding Educator for our district. It is special people like Mr. Brown that make our school an amazing place for all students.
