Brocton Central School Class of 1977 holds reunion
BROCTON — The Brocton Central School Class of 1977 held its 40th Class Reunion on Friday, July 7 at the beautiful College Lodge on Route 380 in Brocton. The tables had white linen tablecloths and forest green napkins and were decorated with green and white balloon bouquets and peperomia plants with green bows.
Each classmate and his/her spouse were greeted by reunion committee members and were given name tags and entered into drawings for theme baskets which were provided by the committee members. Hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner and desserts were served and there was a cash bar throughout the evening, all catered by FSA.
There was a slide show of school days as well as past class reunions and a ’70s trivia game was also played; both put together by Kathy Abram Veith.
The class picture was taken in front of one the grand fireplaces at the lodge and the mantle was adorned with the pictures of deceased classmates Clarence Town and Jefferson Barnes, candles and flowers, as well as a picture of the Brocton Bulldog Clarence Town painted on the gym wall while he was in school.
Theme baskets were won by: Ken Crooks, Rebecca Dikeman Lauto’o, Kristie Snyder (John), Wayde Barnes, Valerie and Craig Johnson Lindholm, Kathy Abram Veith and Ed King. Peperomia plants were won by: Patty Kawski Porteus, Stacy Fisk Stalter, Ken Crooks, Judy Gregory Haskin, Barb Heeder Musso, Calvin Scott (Peggy Marshall Scott) and Joe Austin.
The 50/50 ticket drawing was won by John Snyder.
Classmates attended from Brocton, Fredonia, Dunkirk, Portland, Westfield, Jamestown, Lakewood, Mayville, Angola, West Seneca, Niagara Falls, Ogden, Utah; Glasgow, Kentucky; Holland, Ohio; Cold Water, Ohio; Carlsbad, California; Naples, Florida; Villa Rica, Georgia; Hampton, Virginia; Bonner Springs, Kansas and Dayton, Ohio.
Committee members included: Linda LaVoice Shields, Judy Gregory Haskin, Tammy Panek Winder, Natalie Doyle Bundy, Dale Ransom, Kathy Abram Veith and Lucy Giambra Hurley.
The Brocton Central School Class of 1977 is planning another reunion in five years.
