Brown wins Post 59 scholarship

Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post #59 and its Auxiliary are proud to announce that Ian Brown from Fredonia High School is the recipient of the annual scholarship that Post 59 presents. Congratulations from all of the members and hopes are offered that all of Ian’s plans for the future come true.

Ian Brown, the son of Robert and Janice Brown, graduated from Fredonia High School as a member of the Class of 2018. During his high school career, Ian managed to maintain a 3.5 GPA and spent the 2016/2017 school year in Germany as a Rotary exchange student (his junior year).

Ian participated on the boys’ high school soccer team and was a member of the National Honor Society. In the fall, Ian plans to attend Canisius College in Buffalo where he will study International Relations and German. He also will be participating in the Army ROTC program, to which he has been awarded a 3-year scholarship. In addition, Ian has been helpful in his community. He has volunteered at Empty Bowls for several years as well as his local church.
