Fredonia Farmers’ Winter Market, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Masonic Forest Lodge, Route 20, Fredonia. Features abundance of locally grown and produced vegetables, fruits and herbs, meats, baked goods, maple syrup, honey, jams and jellies, as well as artisan quality craft goods.

Scandinavian Culture Days, 10 a.m. to noon, Jamestown Community College, 525 Falconer St., Jamestown. Free, open to the public, no reservations required. A series of workshops and fellowship about Scandinavia. For details, call 665-0883.

Audubon Snowflake Local Living Festival, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown. $6 adults, $2 ages 3 to 15, free for 2 and under. Open house style. Hands-on skill building, trying snowshoes if snow, hiking with a naturalist, sled dog demonstrations, scavenger hunt, meet-n-greet with life animals, take-home projects from some vendors. Some activities have a small fee, i.e. horse-drawn wagon rides, building a nest box or bird feeder or trying some local food. Dress for the weather.

Silver Creek Central School District community conversation, 10 a.m. to noon, high school cafeteria. Discussion of concept of Complete Streets and the Silver Creek community’s health as it relates to obesity and diabetes. Break-out groups, choosing priorities for change, plans for next steps. Jackson Center program “Six Faces of WWII” video presentation, 11 a.m., 305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. Open to the public, free of charge. Lakeshore Humane Society “Souper” Pet Adoption Day/Open House, noon to 4 p.m., 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Variety of homemade soups available to purchase. Soup-er Bowl Fund-raiser, 4 to 8 p.m., Springville Country Club, 14445 South Cascade Park Road, Springville. DHS Family Open Swim, 1 to 2 p.m. DHS pool. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. $1 per person per session. Limited to 60 swimmers. No food or drink in the pool, balcony or locker room area. No outside pool toys, athletic equipment, balls or noodles. Any misconduct according to the rules posted in the pool atrium area will result in a dismissal from the current session without refund.
