Collins Regional Historical Society needs volunteers

COLLINS — The Collins Regional Historical Society provides a broad array of events that bring cultural enrichment to the community. These valuable services, however, take a great deal of time and effort and can only continue to survive with the generous support of those willing to donate their time or money.

As such, the CRHS members appeal to local businesses and citizens to consider making a charitable donation or volunteer time for one of the 2017 fund-raising events.

The preference, of course, is active members, but having realized that people are more likely to simply volunteer on a regular basis, the Society’s liability coverage is tailored to fit such needs.

This year’s events include: the Mothers Day craft fair (May 6), car show and picnic (July 22), Trash & Treasure event (date to be set at later time), the Halloween party (Oct. 29) and the Thanksgiving dessert sale (Nov. 21).

All funds raised are filtered back into the community in terms of additional events and upcoming educational programs.

The CRHS has been honored to receive as an upcoming Chinese auction item, the new trilogy “Tales of Titans,” by historical fiction author and native New Yorker, Rich DiSilvio, who has repeatedly proven history can be both interesting and entertaining.

The CRHS can be reached via its Facebook at collinshistory or via email at Collinsregional@road runner.com.
