Volunteers sought for Fredonia Visitor’s Booth

The Fredonia Chamber of Commerce is hoping to staff the Visitor’s Information Booth in Barker Commons this summer. Anyone interested in volunteering, contact the Fredonia Chamber office at 679-1565.

Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting set for Monday

The Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting will be held on Monday at 6:30 p.m. This will take place in the Persia Town Hall, 8 W. Main St. in Gowanda.

Recycling center closed Saturday

The City of Dunkirk Recycling Center on Lucas Avenue will be closed Saturday.

Blue Marble Group discussion Tuesday

Dr. Theodore “Ted” Lee, professor of biology from SUNY Fredonia, will lead the Blue Marble Group discussion of the book “The Gene: An Intimate History” on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the main reading room at the Patterson Library in Westfield. It is written from a historical perspective and there are still three copies available at the library or it is available for purchase online.

Chautauqua Lecture Series to appear on Access Channel 5

Access Channel 5 will air the 2016 Chautauqua Institution lecture series on Saturday, February 25 with the last airing on Friday, March 3 at 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. — Bill Moyers, “The Soul of Democracy,” and at 12:45 and 6:45 p.m. — Andrew Young, “What in the World is God Doing?

Pine Valley Adult Interest Courses

The following adult interest courses are being offered at Pine Valley Central School this spring. Home & Hobbies: Stamp-a-Stack — Make Your Own Greeting Cards (February 27) and Safety: AARP Driver Safety Program — Mature Driving (March 14 and 15).
