Monday Night Club celebrates Community Kitchen

Submitted Photo

WESTFIELD — The ladies of the Monday Night Club enjoyed a Valentine celebration, but more importantly, they celebrated the Westfield Community Kitchen. The Kitchen provides an invaluable service for the community. Full-course delicious hot meals are provided to anyone at no charge. For those who wish to contribute, there is a donation box, but it is not expected. Club member Carol Baideme is also a volunteer for the kitchen and hosted the club’s evening there. The kitchen is located in the Westfield Methodist Church Community Room, Main Street in Westfield. Lunch is served both Monday and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and dinner is on Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Aside from dinner and learning about the Community Kitchen, club members read Valentine poems, some of which were stunningly creative, and they played a vigorous game of Valentine sock exchange, culminating in a photo shoot of some of the prizes. The public is invited to visit the Kitchen for a meal. It will help in many ways.
