Genealogical Society holding first meeting of year
The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will hold its first meeting of the year on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with newly elected President Walt Sedlmayer presiding. The meeting will be held in the Steele Room at the Darwin R. Barker Museum in Fredonia.
Andrew Martin Kolstee, a society member, will present a program on “Using Autosomal DNA for Genealogy Research.” Autosomal tests all sides of a person’s ancestry. It will cover the basics of what DNA tests from Ancestry DNA and FamilyTree DNA can be used for and how Karstee has used them in his genealogical research. The meeting is open to the public.
