Memorial Day marchers sought for May 29 event
Planning has begun by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council for the Dunkirk Memorial Day parade, which will take place at 11 a.m. after services at Memorial Park. Those interested in marching or participating can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grape Expectations Wine Festival planned for May 12
The Grape Expectations Wine Festival will take place Friday, May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clarion Inn Resort, 30 Lake Shore Dr. E., Dunkirk. Tickets are $15 or 2 for $25. the event includes wine tasting, food, a complimentary glass, raffles and more. The evening features the music of Marshall Seddon and wineries from Chautauqua County and the Lake Erie Wine Trail. It is sponsored by Dunkirk and Fredonia Community Chambers of Commerce to benefit scholarship funds and other local programs.

Sheridan Cemetery Association, Inc. to meet
SHERIDAN –The annual meeting of the Sheridan Cemetery Association, Inc. will be held in the Sheridan Historical Center, 2702 Route 20 (former town hall) at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 1 for the purpose of electing directors and the transaction of business. All lot owners are eligible to attend.
Free Cooking Matters class
A free Cooking Matters class will be held at the Salvation Army, 704 Central Ave., Dunkirk on Wednesday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Participants will be making no-bake tuna casserole. Participants will be able to help cook as well as taste the recipe. A free reusable bag with groceries will also be given to participants to prepare the recipe at home.
