Gaining experience playing with older students
Recently, all members of the Lake Shore Orchestra Program performed at a District Kaleidoscope Concert. This show highlights all students from the elementary level through the senior high involved in the string program. The younger musicians were excited to perform with more seasoned orchestra members as they gained valuable ensemble skills. The concert was the first formal evening performance for the fourth-graders, and they were amazed at the sound of the ensembles. The beginning students used the night to hone their abilities playing in a larger group. The final selection of the night featured a combined fifth-through-twelfth grade orchestra playing “The William Tell Overture,” that concluded to thunderous applause from the audience.
