Drum and bugle corps rehearsals, performances open to the public

SILVER CREEK – A nationally performing drum and bugle corps team from Texas is being hosted by the Silver Creek Central School District today and Thursday.

The Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps 2017 is traveling across the United States for 70 days and performing at more than 20 events. Approximately 200 people (150 students, 50 adults) comprise the Genesis team. They will be housed in the school gyms and band/chorus rooms and will use all three of the district’s practice fields to rehearse all day today and Thursday. A special performance is set for tonight from 7-10 p.m. on the football field under the lights.

“We received a call late Monday from a drum and bugle corps team seeking a performance location as previous accommodations had fallen through,” said Superintendent Todd Crandall. “The district views this as an opportunity and is pleased to step in to help. We encourage the community to come by and enjoy the music.”

All rehearsals and performances are free and open to the public.
