AHNA announces garden walk

The Academy Heights Neighborhood Association will hold its 2017 Dunkirk Garden Delights Garden Walk on Sunday, with gardens available for viewing from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

This year a total of eight gardens, including the Dunkirk High School Bi-Centennial Garden, will be available for walk-through tours with the owners on hand to answer questions. All gardens are within reasonable walking distance in the AHNA. Maps to the gardens will be available at the tour starting point in the Bi-Centennial Garden located directly opposite the high school on W. Sixth Street in the city of Dunkirk.

This year’s gardeners include Kathy and Dan Uszacki, Harry Gawronski, Robert Delevan, Mary and Steve Rees, Teresa Mesler, Diane and Jeff Novelli and Deborah Richardson, who have been working diligently on their properties. Additionally, easel artists Rosie Sanden and Tom Annear will engage in plein air painting in Bi-Centennial Park during the day.

There is no charge for the tours, but donations in support of Bi-Centennial Park improvements are gratefully accepted.
