Plenty to choose from at Patterson Library’s used book sale

WESTFIELD –Patterson Library has thousands of books to sell this year at its annual book sale, ranging from fiction, nonfiction, children’s materials, books, CDs, cassettes and more. The Patterson Society regular sale open to all will take place Thursday, through Saturday, during library hours. The sale will take place on the main floor of the library.

Attendees of the book sale can expect low prices on all items. Hardcover books, DVDs, CDs and cassettes will be $1 and paperback books and children’s materials are set at 50 cents. On Saturday, there will be a $5 book bag deal.

Employees at the library have been working all year on maintaining the large amount of donations received. Library staff and volunteers have been shifting boxes around in an attempt to find a place for donations until the sale.

“It seems like almost everyday we are hauling books off to storage,” said Joan Brown, senior library clerk.

The large selection of books might be welcomed by book lovers and dedicated library users alike. Profits from the used book sale go toward buying more library materials for Patterson as well as hosting programs and special events. Patterson Library and the Patterson Society will continue their fundraising efforts with the Benefit Auction and Barbecue Dinner, which will take place Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Eason Hall.
