Nashville reunion held

NASHVILLE — The 47th annual Nashville, New York reunion was held recently at the home of Pastor Fred and JoAnne Holdridge on Route 39 in Nashville.

The Holdridges welcomed guests who attended from all around Western New York. After the invocation and blessing of the food, everyone enjoyed a nice variety of delicious food. Meat and rolls were provided.

Following the meal, Myrna Moss of South Dayton conducted the annual auction of a variety of items donated by the guests. The proceeds help fund future reunions. Guests enjoyed looking at an album with photos of previous reunions. They also enjoyed reminiscing about their early lives in and around the Nashville area. There were many memories of farm work being done with teams of workhorses. It was a time when the farmers in the area went from farm to farm helping each other with the harvesting of crops. The farmers’ wives prepared the noonday meals for all of the workers.

The 21 guests enjoyed a lovely day, until threatening storm clouds appeared and everyone decided to leave early.

The Holdridges have graciously invited everyone to their home in Nashville again next year to celebrate the 48th reunion. All past and present Nashville residents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
