Rotary Club Gold Rush set
WESTFIELD — The Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville will hold a Gold Rush at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield on Saturday. From 6 to 6:45, a Chiavetta’s barbecue chicken and ribs meal will be served, including au gratin potatoes, baked beans, roll and butter, dessert, soft drinks and coffee; BYOB. From 6:45 to 9 p.m., there will be a reverse draw raffle for cash prizes up to $1,000; need not be present to win. The event benefits this Rotary Club’s service projects. Purchase tickets in advance. Sheridan VFW Auxiliary Chili Cook-Off
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan VFW Auxiliary will host a Chili Cook-Off fund-raiser on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Sheridan VFW, located at 2556 Route 20. Prizes will be awarded for various categories. All are welcome to sample tasty chili for a small fee. If anyone wants to enter a chili, contact the VFW at 672-6011. All proceeds to benefit veterans in this area.
