Bird club to meet Monday

Twenty-four members attended the November meeting conducted by John Ruska. Members shared recent sightings, including wild turkeys, American kestrels on Webster Road, merlin on Newell Road, a large flock of American robins, dunlins, Bonaparte’s gulls, horned grebe, horned lark on Farel Road, and Eastern bluebird.

John and Bev Ruska presented the program for the evening on their recent trip to Germany. They visited Europe’s largest “Pumpkin Fest” in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart. The theme this year was entitled the Roman Empire. Diane Clark and Bill Moran provided refreshments for the meeting.

The Lake Erie Bird Club will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at BOCES, Fredonia-Stockton Road, Fredonia. Jonathan Townsend will present the program entitled, “An Introduction to Bat Biology and Conservation.”

Everyone is asked to bring a small plate of cookies or other snack. For more information about the club, call John and Bev Ruska at 679-9676.
