Chautauqua County Rural Ministry third annual Chili Cook Off planned for Jan. 28

Chautauqua County Rural Ministry will be holding its third annual Chili Cook- off, adding an award for best macaroni and cheese dish as well. The event will be held at the Clarion Hotel on Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those entering their special dishes are asked to arrive between 10:15 and 10:30 to register. It costs $5 to enter each dish(es). Winners will be announced in two categories: Judge’s Choice for chili and for macaroni and cheese. People’s Choice will be by the “tasters” and by making a monetary contribution to the best chili and macaroni and cheese dishes.

All monies raised support the Friendly Kitchen, which serves 17 meals each week to those who are hungry in the community. There will be several local judges and winners will be announced prior to the closing of the event at 2 p.m. Winners will receive a trophy and $50. CCRM will also have a selection of raffle baskets. DJ Chris Rivera will be there with his wonderful sound system. CCRM will also offer a free bowl of chili to those who do not want to vote.
