Cassadaga Winter Festival set for Friday through Sunday
CASSADAGA — Save the dates for the second Annual Cassadaga Winter Festival to be held Feb. 9-11. This activity-filled weekend, initiated by Citizens for a Better Cassadaga, includes events for all ages sponsored by local organizations and businesses.
The Winter Festival kicks off with a family movie night at the Park Cassadaga Church on Maple Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Saturday morning at 10 and 11, an Audubon Nature Program and Cub Scout bake sale will take place at the Cassadaga Library, 18 Maple Ave.
On Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., sledding, cocoa, cookies and snowman building are planned at the Cassadaga Country Club, 55 Frisbee Road. Wagon rides around the Lakes will also be available from 1 to 3 p.m. The Lily Dale Assembly is offering historic tours and winter games on the grounds from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday evening, Snowball Dance featuring “Big Tone” from 7 to 10 p.m. at the American Legion, 228 Maple Ave., will round off this busy Saturday. All of these events are free and open to all.
The CV Kiwanis Club will hold its annual fund-raising pancake breakfast on Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Fire Hall, 22 Mill St. Tickets are presale $7 adult/at the door $8; children $4.50. Sunday afternoon, a Corn Hole tournament will be held at the American Legion from 1 to 3 p.m. All events, except the pancake breakfast fund-raiser, are free and open to all.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., Cross Country Skiing at Boutwell Hill State Forest,carpooling from Fire Hall, and thaw out at Whiskey Hill afterward.
Local restaurants will be offering Festival specials during the weekend. Cassadaga welcomes everyone to share winter fun at the Festival!
