Free parenting program planned for Wednesdays

JAMESTOWN — A series of four, two-hour session parenting group program will be offered by on Feb. 7, 14, 20 and 28 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Mental Health Association (MHA), 31 Water St., Door 14, Suite 7, Gateway Center, Jamestown. This Project is offered free of charge through a partnership between Chautauqua Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Council (CASAC) and the Mental Health Association (MHA).

Participants can build a strong foundation for their children. A child’s first years are so important! Learn how to make the most of them with Active Parenting: First Five Years.

In this program, learn the best ways to nurture children from birth to pre-K with a “just right” a combination of freedom and nonviolent discipline.

Give kids a strong start.

Learn what a baby’s cry means; ages and stages of development; building a strong bond; the child’s growing brain; using mindfulness to keep one’s cool; effective discipline young children can understand; choices and consequences; six ways to prepare children for school success and much more!
