Cassadaga Legion Post 1280 barbecue, dance and karaoke set

CASSADAGA — Cassadaga Legion Post 1280 will hold a barbecue, dance and karaoke on Saturday, April 21 at Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. 5 to 6 p.m. will be cocktail and beer specials. From 6 p.m. until sold out, a chicken and pulled pork barbecue is planned. 7 to 11 p.m. features Family Tradition Karaoke and DJ. There will also be a door prize and 50/50 drawing. AARP Safe Driver classes scheduled

BROCTON — Fellowship Church, 148 W. Main St., Brocton, has just added an AARP Safe Driver class for May 21 and 22 from 8:45 a.m. until noon. The church is located at the corner of Route 20 and School Street in Brocton, right next to the Brocton School. Class fees are $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers, with checks payable to AARP, please bring on the first day of class. Also bring a pen, driver’s license and AARP membership card. The class, though intended for the mature driver, is open to any licensed New York driver. To register call instructor Sheila Lawrence at 224-3280. Class size is limited and a waiting list is kept, so once registered if you are unable to attend please be courteous and call and cancel your reservation.

Dayton Volunteer Fire Company chicken barbecue planned

DAYTON — Dayton Volunteer Fire Company will hold its annual chicken barbecue on Sunday, April 22 from 11:30 a.m. to sold out at the Fire Hall, 9512 Route 62, Dayton. The costs are $10 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under. The meal includes a half chicken, salt potatoes, macaroni salad, cole slaw, homemade desserts and a drink when eating in. Take outs are available. Reserve by calling 532-9098 before Sunday April 22, or the day of the event by calling 532-2627 before 10 a.m.
