Organ recital set for Friday

The students of Brian A. Bogey, SUNY Fredonia organ instructor, will present an organ recital in the King Concert Hall on April 5 at 3 p.m.

The recital which had been previously scheduled and announced for 4 p.m. has been changed and will be performed on the 3-manual Schlicker Pipe Organ, containing 2,459 pipes.

Organ students participating in the recital include Jason Black, Callen Lange, Arthur Lewis, George Ryan and Yong Zhang.

Guest recitalist and also organ student of Brian Bogey will be Dr. JiHyun Woo, Music Theory and Aural Skills teacher at SUNY Fredonia.

Dr. Woo will play the “Chorale No. 3 in a minor” by Cesar Franck.

Other musical selections will include several organ “Preludes and Fugues” by J. S. Bach; “Trumpet Tunes” by John Stanley and Frederick Swan; “Rondeau” by Francois d’Andrieu; “Toccata” by Emma Lou Diemer; and “Rhosymedre” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The recital is free of charge and the public is welcome to attend.
