“Tutus, Tiaras & A Prince Or Two…” will take place Aug. 7-11.

JAMESTOWN — The Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet is accepting registrations for its popular summer dance camp, “Tutus, Tiaras & A Prince Or Two…” scheduled for the week of Aug. 7 through 11.

The five-day dance camp is a wonderful first experience for young 3 and a half to 5 year olds who are ready to attend dance class by themselves without a parent. Class activities include pre-ballet class, story time, creative play and craft making based on the stories of famous ballets.

Classes meet Monday through Friday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. On the last day, the students present a demo for parents and friends.

Artistic Director Monika Alch says this is a wonderful introduction to the magical world of ballet for young boys and girls. She also notes that the benefits of a dance education are numerous. Students learn coordination, musicality and creativity while building endurance, strength, flexibility and balance. They also make new friends and learn class participation skills in a positive and encouraging setting.

The class will be instructed by guest instructor Brittany Bush, a dancer with the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. Bush is also on the faculty of The Brookline Ballet School in Boston, where she instructs pre-ballet classes.

Tuition for the week is $85. An application can be found on the CRYB website at Early registration is encouraged as the class fills quickly. Information is also available by calling the studio at 664-9766 or emailing at
