‘Tis the season
Cherry Creek to host Christmas Weekend
CHERRY CREEK — The streets of Cherry Creek will be bustling when the little village in the County hosts its annual Christmas event this weekend. The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church will host its annual Craft Bazaar and Cookie Walk on Saturday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The church is located on Main Street in the village.
“Crafters, artisans and vendors will offer their wares, and great gift ideas at affordable prices. We will be offering a chili and soup luncheon as well, so we invite everyone to come out and spend some time with us,” said Brenda Hendricks, one of the event’s organizers. “Our church has some great bakers, and we will have cookies available at $4 per dozen. We’ll help with everyone’s Christmas baking.”
A much-anticipated portion of the weekend, the Memorial Tree, will be the featured event for Sunday at 4 p.m., when area residents remember loved ones by hanging pre-ordered bows on the evergreen trees in Memorial Park. The service, hosted by the Cherry Creek Community Association, Inc., will be held in the gazebo. The service concludes with the singing of “Silent Night.”
