The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present former elementary teacher turned comedian, Lucas Bohn, in a special one-man comedy show called “Lesson Plans to Late Night” this Friday at 7:30 p.m. To celebrate educators, the Opera House is offering discounted admission to area teachers.

“Lesson Plans to Late Night” is an original comedy show about Bohn’s career transition from elementary school teacher to national touring comedian. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience combining live stand-up comedy and multimedia elements, the show has been called “a comedic multimedia masterpiece!”

Called a “one-man SNL sketch,” Bohn has performed with such notable comedians as Jimmy Fallon, Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart, and was nominated “Comedian of the Year” by Campus Activities magazine.

He has performed for Fortune 500 companies, at colleges, theatres and comedy clubs throughout the US and for five different international cruise lines. He has been hired by Scholastic, PBS and multiple radio stations as voice-over talent; and his commercials and jingles have been heard by more than 30,000 people monthly.

“Lesson Plans to Late Night” is one of the highest rated main stage shows on Norwegian Cruise Lines and was called “truly innovative” and “a total crowd pleaser” by cruise directors and audience members.

If you have ever worked with children — or have kids or grandkids — this show is designed with you in mind.

“Lesson Plans to Late Night” is part of the Opera House Spotlight Series, which is generously sponsored by DFT Communications. Additional support comes from the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County and the Arts Services Initiative of WNY’s Give for Greatness program.

Tickets to Lesson Plans to Late Night are $17 ($15 for Opera House members and educators, $10 for students) and may be purchased in person at the Opera House Box Office or by phone at 679-1891, Tuesday-Friday, 1-5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at www.fredopera.org anytime.
