Chautauqua County Fair to go on from July 16 – 22
The Chautauqua County Agricultural Fair will kick off this year a week early, with opening day July 16 and closing on July 22. The main reason for this is the new Carnival Company, Thomas and Powers, which promises to bring a new and exciting midway this year. There are many changes this year with the new Ride Company, starting with the Midway opening Monday through Sunday 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. Monday the midway will open after NYS inspection.
You will see changes on the mini stage along with new events on the fair grounds. You requested more music, so Monday, Thursday and Saturday we will have different styles of music. Monday will feature, ‘The Lake Effect,’ which will provide acoustic old-school music, Thursday will have Lizzy Osborne, country, and Saturday with Ty Johnson will have Hip Hop/Rap closing out the night with La Krema band.
Other new events to watch for at the fair this year are the following: Fire Magick, Dino Trail, Petting Zoo with Camel rides, a Broom maker, Cross the Line Rodeo, Bull Riding. Back by popular demand: Extreme Illusions Josh & Lea, Southern Tier Wrestling, After shock Monster Trucks, NYS empire state Pro Farm Pullers along with the popular Demolition Derby, (changes – no championship heat since NYS Fair does not have a state derby anymore).
For the second year in a row you can now download the Chautauqua County Fair app on your iPhone or Android phone for free which will provide you with up-to-date information on what is happening on the grounds throughout the year.
