Local artist accepted into the Cooperstown exhibition

Local artist Robert Harrington Sr. of Dunkirk recently had the honor of having his egg tempera painting accepted for the 83rd annual Cooperstown Art Association National Juried Art Exhibition.

Selected from more than 500 entries the exhibit was represented by 120 artists from 21 states and included 150 works of art. This year’s exhibition was juried by noted fine artist Yulia Hanansen.

A reception and awards ceremony was held on July 13 at the Cooperstown Art Association Gallery for the artist and their guests. The exhibit is scheduled to be on display through Aug. 17.

As the retired sole proprietor of Harrington Signs, Harrington has been a professional artist for more than 55 years and has received numerous awards from various organizations in both watercolor and oil.

This has been Harrington’s third acceptance into this National Exhibition. He has also had the pleasure of having many of his works accepted and displayed at several galleries including the Impact Art Gallery in Buffalo, the Abney Galleries in New York City and the Ariel Art Gallery in Soho.
