Westfield High School Handbell Ensemble performs at All-State conference

Pictured are the Westfield High School Handbell Ensemble and their director Kent Knappenberger as they are presented with their All-State Concert plaque by NYSSMA Vice-President, David Brown.

Forty-Six Westfield Academy and Central School 10-12 graders performed as part of the Westfield High School Handbell Ensemble at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State conference earlier this month in Rochester. Musical ensembles from the entirety of New York State annually compete by blind audition to be awarded a featured concert at the NY All-State Music Conference. Westfield junior, Bradley Belmondo states “It was an incredible honor that every student was able to be recognized for their talents.” Sophomore Emma Heim also agreed “I felt immensely honored to be chosen for this amazing opportunity.” Director Kent Knappenberger added “I’m always very proud of what our students accomplish and that we are able to do so in a rural school from a community that cares.”
