Over 200 families served through the Christmas Assistance Program

The Salvation Army was able to successfully wrap up its Christmas Assistance Program thanks to the generous support of the people of Northern Chautauqua County. On Dec. 19, The Salvation Army of Dunkirk provided over 200 families with Christmas food boxes and Christmas gifts for over 250 children!

The Salvation Army’s Christmas Assistance Program provides eligible families with a Christmas food box for the entire family and gifts for their children ages 12 and under. The items distributed to these families were donated by generous Northern Chautauqua County communities.

The Salvation Army could not have made this possible without the generous donations from, and partnerships with: Walmart, Stericycle, Community Bank, Jamestown Community College North County Campus, Fredonia BOCES, SUNY Fredonia, SUNY Fredonia’s Soccer team, Nestle Purina, Fredonia United Methodist Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fredonia Place, Food Bank of WNY, Henry’s Hair, ERA Reality, Ellicott Brewery Company of Fredonia, the Beaver Club, Pizza Hut, Applebee’s, Fredonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Larry Spacc GMC, Care Center, Sullivan’s Charbroil, Clarion, TJ Maxx, Dunkirk Day Hab, Crafty Ladies, Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280, Grace Fellowship Church, Dunkirk Knitting Group, Arkwright Windfarm and Tops Friendly Markets.

The Salvation Army would also like to thank everyone who purchased gifts for the Angels Trees, donated food, and made monetary donation toward the Christmas Assistance Program.
