Ripley United Methodist Church

Ripley United Methodist Church. 84 W. Main St., Ripley, is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast today from 7:30 to 11 a.m. There will be pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7. This month’s breakfast will benefit camp at Findley Scholarship Fund special ministry for children of Ripley and Ripley United Methodist Church.

Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Brecht Saelens. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes Barb Albert to the pulpit on Sunday. As we prepare to celebrate Earth Day, Albert will remember Rachel Carson, a woman who followed her curiosity, her passion, and science to make a difference in the world.

Immediately following the service there will be a finger food potluck at 12:15 p.m. To kick off Earth Week, the Fragile Earth Film Series continues at 1 p.m. with a free viewing of the film “Home,” a documentary from 2009. A trailer for the film can be seen at: youtu.be/92kt3JUwtgk.

Collins Friends

On Sunday at 11 a.m., there will be special music and a message from Michael Johnson at the Collins Friends meeting, 2345 Main St., Collins.

On Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., “Exploring mindfulness and meditation,” will be presented by Patricia C. Duggan, LNHC and Elizabeth Everett, Meditation Instructor. The cost of $80 also includes refreshments and lunch.

Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church

Clean, Sober, Saved family and friends edition support group will be held Monday evenings at 6 p.m. at the Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church, 6813 Main St., Cherry Creek. Use the ramp entrance.

Attendees can find their way to freedom and healing through the power and process of change. It is designed for people who find themselves trying to clean up after their addicted loved ones and don’t know what to do; for those desperately trying to change their loved ones to no avail. This group is for those whose own lives have gone off track with their own hopes and dreams derailed as a result of caring for an addicted loved one. Attendees can get their lives back.

This program offers hope for a powerful life free from co-dependency.

St. Joseph Church Altar and Rosary Society

The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church in Fredonia is resuming its monthly Dessert Card Parties. The first one will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. The card party takes place in the Gathering Room of St. Joseph Church. Admission is $4, coffee, dessert, table and door prizes are provided. West Portland Baptist Church

Gospel Singer Terry Campbell will be in concert at the West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 East Route 20 in Westfield, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. There is no charge for the concert, but a love gift for Terry Campbell’s ministry will be taken. Everyone is welcome.

The St. John United Church of Christ

St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a beef tips and noodles loaf dinner on Saturday, April 21, serving 4:30 to 6 p.m., at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Parking and the entrance are off Eagle Street. Call 366-0710 for reservations, which are highly recommended. Pre-sale tickets are $9.50 each. Tickets at the door are $10. Take-outs are available.

St. Joseph’s Church of Gowanda

St. Joseph’s Church of Gowanda will hold a community meal on Saturday, April 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 26 Erie Ave. in the church basement. The menu includes Polish sausage and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans and rye bread.

Pillar of Fire Church

The Chautauqua Alcohol & Substance Abuse Council will present a program “Addiction Response Ministry – A Christ Centered Recovery program” on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pillar of Fire Church, 221 Lake Shore Drive W., Dunkirk. Sign-in begins at 8:45 a.m. There is no cost for this event. The intent of the course/training is to develop facilitators who can effectively teach the Christ Centered Recovery class to those affected by substance abuse.
