Spirit Sunday readings taking place at Lily Dale

Spirit Sunday readings will be available with Lily Dale registered mediums from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Assembly Hall, Cleveland Avenue, Lily Dale the first Sunday of the month. The price for readings is greatly reduced. Readings are $30 for 15 minutes or $60 for 30 minutes. This event is to help introduce people new to Spiritualism to what a reading is.

Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale. Service time is 10:30 to 12:00 and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer. The public is invited to attend and there is no gate fee from Sept. 10 through June.

Blessed Mary Angela festival

Blessed Mary Angela will hold a festival with Weidner’s chicken barbecue on Sunday, June 3 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Hillside site social center, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. Tickets are $10 advance, $12 at the door. There will also be a bake sale, basket auction and raffle. Drive through and take out dining options are also available. Tickets can be purchased after Masses or at Big Rick’s, 327 E. Lake Shore Drive; Matt’s News, 93 E. Third St.; Fourth Ward Deli, 40 E. Doughty St. or Tommy’s Barber Shop, 25 Water St. in Fredonia.

Ripley UMC to hold all you can eat breakfast

Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St., Ripley, is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast Saturday, June 9, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. There will be pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7. This month’s breakfast will benefit Kingdom Konxion, summer kids’ program.

NCCS HSA Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue

Northern Chautauqua Catholic School HSA will hold a Chiavetta’s “take out only” chicken barbecue on Saturday, June 9 from 4 p.m. to sold out. The school is located at 336 Washington Ave. in Dunkirk. Pick-up the dinners along the Washington Avenue side of the school. Pre-sale tickets are $10 each at the NCCS main office, or $12 the day of the event.

St. John’s United Church of Christ spaghetti dinner

St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, June 10, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. or sold out, at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Use the Eagle Street driveway, parking lot and entrance. The menu includes spaghetti with homemade sauce, roll, a special treat, dessert and beverage. Tickets are $10 per adult.. Take-outs are available. Proceeds help send local kids to the Dunkirk Conference Center Camp.
