St. Joe’s community meal planned for today

St. Joe’s community meal will be held Saturday, July 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Joseph’s School, 26 Erie St., Gowanda. The menu features chicken salad, croissants, cottage cheese, fruit and drinks. All are welcome. The meal is all you can eat in house. There is no charge. Free will offerings will be accepted.

Gospel concert planned at Ellington Community Church Sunday

The Ellington Community Church, 5009 Thornton Road, will present a gospel concert featuring the “Sunny Side Up” Band with Brenda Carr on Sunday, July 22 at 3 p.m. Refreshments will follow the concert.

Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Tom Rugani. This week’s medium is Gretchen Clark. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

St. Dominic’s Parish and community picnic planned in Brocton Monday

St. Dominic’s Parish (St. Patrick’s site) will be hosting a parish and community picnic on Sunday, July 22 at noon on the parish grounds, 12 Central Ave., Brocton. Parishioners and the Brocton community are all invited to attend. Bring a dish to pass. Hot dogs, hamburgers and drink will be provided. Music for dancing will be provided. Come join in a day of fun.

Vacation Bible School at Stockton

The Stockton Community Church, 4554 West Railroad Avenue, Stockton, will host Vacation Bible School July 23 through 27 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for children ages 4 to 12 years old. The theme is “Maker Fun Factory” with incredible music, creative games, amazing experiments, surprising adventures and lip-smacking snacks. Parents can pre-register their children by calling the church office at 595-3176. Children must be accompanied by a parent on Monday, July 23 at 8:30 a.m. to register and sign in.

Conewango Valley UMC summer picnic Monday

The Conewango Valley United Methodist Church will hold a summer picnic on Sunday, July 22 at noon at the Conewango Valley Park, next to the church on 5517 Church St., Conewango Valley. Bring a dish to pass and a chair. All are welcome.

Church to sponsor ‘Kids Summer Fun Night,’ VBS

The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield will host four special nights for kids ages 3 through 11 at the church. On Sunday July 29 from 6-8 will be “Kids Summer Fun Night” with the inflatable obstacle course, soccer darts, refreshments, and video. The next three nights, Monday July 30 through Wednesday Aug. 1, from 6-8 p.m., will feature Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme is “Game On!” featuring Bible lessons, crafts, refreshments, sports, prizes and much more. All kids are welcome.

Vacation Bible School planned at Collins Friends Meeting

Vacation Bible School is planned at the Collins Friends Meeting, 2345 Main St., Collins on Aug. 1 and 2 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for children ages 4 through 11. VBS will feature Bible verses, sharing, crafts, snacks, a scavenger hunt, singing and fun. Phone the church at 377-2206. All are welcome.

Ripley United Methodist Summer Vacation Bible School

The Ripley United Methodist Summer Vacation Bible School theme this year is “Weird Animals.”

Classes will take place on Mondays, Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St. Ripley from 4 to 6 p.m.

St. Rose of Lima Lawn Fete planned for Aug. 5

The St. Rose of Lima Lawn Fete, 11 Center St., Forestville, is planned for Sunday Aug. 1. It starts at noon (following 11:15 a.m. Mass) and goes to 6 p.m. There will be an air conditioned hall and a dining tent where patrons can relax and enjoy the afternoon. The event features Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue, a refreshment stand, 50/50s, pony rides, games, raffles (top prize $1,000, cash prizes, beautiful quilt and many more prizes), gift basket extravaganza and more. A special feature is the artisan boutique with one-of-a-kind handmade items including furniture, paintings and giftware. The event is a fun-filled day for all.

South Dayton Free Methodist Church plans “Sidewalk Gang” Vacation Bible School

The South Dayton Free Methodist Church, 327 Pine St., South Dayton, will hold “Sidewalk Gang” Vacation Bible School every Friday through Aug. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Featured activities include Bible stories, music, crafts, games, and lots of fun and fellowship for the children. Lunch will be provided each day. Family and friends are invited to the special closing program on Aug. 24.
