Grape Discovery Center to hold ‘Blessing of the Grapes’ Ceremony
WESTFIELD — The Concord Grape Belt Heritage Association and Grape Discovery Center extend an invitation to members of the public to attend the annual Blessing of the Grapes service on the Steve Baran Memorial Patio.
Reverend Virginia Carr of the Westfield Episcopal Church will begin a service of thanksgiving and blessing for the 2018 grape harvest at 1 p.m. sharp. The grapes will be blessed with holy water, symbolizing a blessing for all grapes and the industry in the region.
Following the ceremony, enjoy a Concord grape-filled cake in celebration of 14 years of the Concord Grape Belt Heritage Association, Inc. as well as grape juice, coffee and tea while visiting with members of the community.
The Grape Discovery Center is located in the heart of grape country at 8305 West Main Road, Route 20, Westfield.
