Annual Villenova-Valentine Picnic draws 41 people
The 15th annual Villenova-Valentine Picnic was held Feb. 14, hosted by Lynn and Phyllis Butcher and Roberta Stearns. The group gathered at the pavilion on Lake Walk-In-Water in Indian Lake Estates, Florida.
It was the most perfect day one could ask for, with temperatures in the low 80s with only a slight breeze and lots of sunshine.
There was a great buffet and desserts galore. 41 people were present who now reside or winter in Florida from the Villenova area in New York. Each one shared his/her story within a group in a talk session led by Roberta. A few regulars were missed due to being on cruises, or being sick, or having visitors. All feel blessed just to be able to continue getting together every year. Picnic pictures are posted on Facebook.
Those present this year: Ruth McNamara, Ken Scott, Joan and Hig Nobles, Tom and Debi Frost, Sue Ivett, Barb and Ken Mosher, Phil and Pat Schultz, Wade and Sue Stearns, Larry and Janet Waite, Sandy Roundtree, Nancy LaQuay, Anita and Gordon Bentley, Buzz Dabolt, Ron Ackley, Curt Howard, Dick and Brenda Doster, Jeff and Jo Beightol, Gary and Pam Ackley, Pat Brown, Skip Gens, Jan and Glenn Scott, Peg and Bill VanWormer, Pat Hills, Julie Maynard, Carol and Charlie Buisch.
The Villenova friends look forward to next year’s picnic in the same place on Feb. 14, 2018.
