Norma and Charles St. George

Recently, Charles and Norma St. George of Fredonia were acknowledged for their 67 years of marriage. The St. Georges were married on Sept. 2, 1950 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Williamsville. Charles worked for 32 years at Al Tech steel corporation and Norma at the New York State University at Fredonia for several years. The couple were active in the activities at St. Anthony’s Church with Norma being Eucharistic Minister as well as doing the beautification of the grounds and church and Charles for many years did the bookkeeping and landscaping around the church. He is also a trustee of the church.

They raised four children: Dr. Sally St. George, Charles (Chuck) St. George, Louise (LuAnn) Proper and Jude St. George. They are also proud grandparents of eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Charles also served as Mayor for the Village of Fredonia from 1971 through 1979 (four terms), Fredonia Central School Board for five years and two years as treasurer for the Village of Silver Creek.
