Chapter business was discussed including reports from committee chairs on sunshine and gifts, ways and means, service, publicity, programs and socials. As part of the international program year theme, “In the Quilt of Life, Friends are the Stitches that Hold it Together,” a “Quilt of Loyalty” program was presented by Elna Meleen, Carole Link and Carol Reynolds. Ms. Meleen called to attention the meaning of loyalty – it comes from a french word for legal — yet in her belief it is not just a formal contract but a contract from the heart. Carole Link reflected on her sorority sisters as faithful and devoted friends in good times and bad when presenting her thoughts on loyalty. Carol Reynolds closed with a poignant poem on loyalty pulling together threads of allegiance, commitment and fidelity.
