CASAC teaches Brocton students about good vs. risky behaviors

CASAC is currently presenting its “Too Good for Drugs” program to Brocton Elementary School’s 5th grade students. This is an evidence-based alcohol and other drug prevention program presented for 40 minutes for 10 weeks. Lessons focus on healthy life habits that are correlated with preventing drug use and other problem behaviors. The curriculum targets knowledge about goal setting, decision making, conflict resolution communication, drug awareness and community involvement. The fifth grade prevention educator is Amy Beato.

Prior to presenting the lesson on Oct. 26, Mrs. Tobi Marvin, 5th grade math teacher, was pleasantly surprised to receive the Teacher of the Month Certificate from CASAC for all her help and positivity during previous lessons. Her classroom cheered and clapped upon the presentation!
