Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Smoczynski

Alisha Szablewski and Daniel Smoczynski were united in marriage on June 6, 2015 in the outdoor Japanese Garden at the Avanti Mansion in Blasdell. Pamela Forge officiated at the 5 p.m. double ring ceremony which was followed by a unity tree planting.

The bride is the daughter of Leonard and Shari Szablewski of Sheridan.

The groom is the son of Les and Joan Smoczynski of Dunkirk.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a customized Oleg Cassini ball gown in soft white with intricate beading and crystals on the bodice. The skirt and chapel-length train featured tiered scallops and ruffles with antique lace, beading and crystals. She also wore a crystal tiara and cathedral length veil with antique lace and crystals. She carried a cascading waterfall-style bouquet of blue bom dendrobium orchids, stargazer lilies, white roses and white hydrangeas.

Diana Szablewski of Sheridan, sister of the bride, served as her honor attendant. She wore a high-low chiffon halter dress in sangria. She carried a bouquet of silk dahlias, roses and hydrangeas in burgundy and teal colors.

Ashleigh Hanner of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Megan Hawkins of Dunkirk, lifelong friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids. They wore tea-length satin dresses with sweetheart necklines in sangria, which were accented with aqua-colored waist sashes. They carried bouquets of silk dahlias, roses and hydrangeas in shades of teal, aqua and blue.

Elena Naumoff of Portland, daughter of a friend of the bride, served as flower girl.

Jason Matos of Laona, friend of the groom, served as best man.

Ushers included Tyler Malkowski of Fredonia, friend of the bride and Brandon Mahle of Forestville, friend of the groom.

Immediately following the ceremony, the reception was held in the garden reception area of the Avanti Mansion.

The bride is a 2008 graduate of Fredonia High School. In 2012, she graduated from SUNY Fredonia magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. She is currently employed as an accounting assistant for Linda J. Harris, CPA.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Dunkirk High School. He attended Jamestown Community College. He is currently employed as a union roofer for Jamestown Roofing.

A honeymoon is planned for September to the Finger Lakes.

The couple resides in Sheridan.
