Wedding

Emily Elizabeth Griffith and Kristopher William Maytum were united in marriage Oct. 2, 2015 at 3 p.m. in the Retreat Ballroom of the Peek ‘N Peak Resort in Findley Lake. The double ring ceremony, officiated by The Honorable Amy Hontz, featured traditional vows. It was held in front of the fireplace, with candles, surrounded by family and friends. Sister of the bride, AnnMarie Griffith, read a poem.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Griffith Jr. of Fredonia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt (Julie) Maytum of Fredonia.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore an ivory tulle ball gown with an asymmetrical bodice that featured an illusion Sabrina neckline with a beaded motif of pearls and crystals accenting the shoulder and hip. The back of the gown featured a chapel-length train. Buttons covered the back of the dress, including an illusion neckline and zipper. The bride also wore a cathedral-length ivory veil. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses and crystals with ivory satin ribbons and wrapped in her grandmother’s handkerchief.

Her honor attendant was her sister, Alexandra Griffith of Fredonia. Her bridesmaids included her sister, AnnMarie Griffith, her sister-in-law, Kari Pierce and her long-time friend Jena Schrantz, all of Fredonia. Each of the bride’s attendants wore a navy sleeveless chiffon dress with a ruffled back and a charmeuse-banded empire waist with pleated front accents. They carried bouquets of ivory roses and baby’s breath.

Kevin Astry, friend of the groom, served as best man. Friends Rob Thering and David Astry and Charles Pierce Jr., brother-in-law of the groom, all of Fredonia, served as ushers.

All family members and the bridal party were escorted through a tulle and crystal-draped grand arch made by the bride’s parents.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception took place in the Retreat Ballroom.

The couple honeymooned in Punta Cana.

They are now at home in Fredonia.

Wedding

Heather Zebracki and David Shareno were united in marriage Dec. 1, 2015 in a beachside double ring ceremony at Eagle Beach, Aruba.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Lynda Zebracki of Dunkirk. The groom is the son of Sandra Kosierb of Dunkirk.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a cascading gown with lace cap sleeves and carried a bouquet with shades of pink and ivory roses.

A reception was held at the Conservation Club on Dec. 26.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She is employed at Jenna’s Fourth Street Cafe.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Fredonia High School. He is employed as a union boilermaker for Local 7.

Mr. and Mrs. Shareno reside in Dunkirk.

Wedding

Valerie Lettieri, formerly of Jamestown, and Woody Mann, of New York City, were honored recently by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Theresa) Lettieri, at a reception at the Marvin House in Jamestown, following the couple’s marriage on Nov. 7, 2015 in New York City.

The groom’s sister, Rev. Dana Mann, Pastor of the United Church of Christ in Mankato Minneapolis, officiated at the ceremony. The bride’s daughter, Morgan O’Brien, was Maid-of-Honor, and the bride’s son, Cameron O’Brien, was Best Man.

Woody Mann is a renowned international acoustic guitarist, composer, teacher, and film producer. The bride, a graduate of SUNY Fredonia School of Music, has her piano studio in Setauket, NY.

The Marvin House event began with piano performances by Helga Hulse, of the Hulse Music Studio in Erie, PA, playing Debussy, and by Phyllis East, Professor of Music at SUNY Fredonia, playing Brahms.

The bride and groom performed a duet for guitar and piano, and solos from the groom’s published compositions. The bride’s parents, local event and restaurant entertainers, sang “Night and Day” during the couple’s first dance. Music provided by brothers of the bride, Lance Lettieri and Andre Lettieri, Sound Engineers and proprietors of Dreamwave Recording Studio. Alijah Lettieri, nephew of the bride, was photographer at both events. Jody Gauggel, Chef, catered the dinner reception at the Marvin House.

Wedding

Erin Elizabeth Tyler and Anthony Robert Guiffreda exchanged wedding vows on June 20, 2015, at Saint James Roman Catholic Church, Jamestown. The Rev. Raymond A.J. Donohue celebrated the ceremony.

Music was provided by Cathy Gagliano, pianist. Vocalists were bridal attendant Jamie Lee Bonfiglio-Davis, Father of the bride Daniel J. Tyler Sr., Ylsa Guiffre (guitarist), Angelo Guiffre, and Bill Eckstrom, trumpeter/guitarist. Readings were by Natalie Swanson, sister of the groom, Laurie Sicard, sister of the groom and Amanda Tyler sister in law of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Deacon Daniel J. Tyler Sr. and Ellen V. Tyler of Bemus Point. She is also the granddaughter of Adele Nickerson and the late Ernest Nickerson and the late Mr. & Mrs. Samuel T. Tyler.

Her husband is the son of Cindy Guiffreda of Fredonia and the late Robert S. Guiffreda. He is also grandson of Nancy McCann of Levonia, GA and the late Tom McCann and Marian Guiffreda of Jamestown and the late Salvatore Guiffreda.

The bride wore a white satin and chiffon fit and flare Mori Lee grown with a sweetheart neckline, beaded bodice, buttons down the back with a full shirt embroidered lace appliques, beading and a chapel train. Her look was completed with a beaded elbow veil and blusher.

Gretchen Schauman, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Taralyn Sample, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Aipoalani, Britta Van Akin and Kerri Ahlbin, friends of the bride. Meghan Pauley, niece of the bride was the junior bridesmaid. Josephine Swanson, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.

Ryan Eggleston, friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Matt Sicard, Patrick Swanson, brothers-in-law of the groom, Jeremy Drake and Andrew Fish, friends of the groom. The bride is a graduate of Maple Grove High School and Edinboro University. She is working as a substitute teacher.

The groom is a graduate of Panama High School, SUNY Brockport and Canisius College. He is employed by Nestle Purina, as a quality assurance analyst.

The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii. They are residing in Bemus Point.

Joseph DiRusso and Alexis Briggs were united in marriage on Sept. 5, 2015 in Fredonia. The ceremony, held at the Rotunda Grapevine Railroad Farm Church, was officiated by Anthony Pulci. A reception followed at the Days Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Smith of Dunkirk and John and Yuki Briggs of San Francisco, Calif. She was escorted by her mother, Barbara Smith and her father, John Briggs.

The groom is the son of Lauren Reynolds-Schwerk of Fredonia and Mark and Carol DiRusso of Bristow, Va.

The bride’s maid of honor was Chandra Davis of Falconer. Bridesmaids were Katie Davis of Fredonia; Nichol Dwyer of Evans Mills, N.Y.; April Gray of Chester, Md., Megan DiRusso (sister-in-law of bride and groom) of Stevensville, Md. and Betsy Leone of Manchester, Md.

The best man was Michael DiRusso of Stevensville, Md., brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Matt Schwerk of Hamburg, N.Y. (brother of the groom); Danny Nott of Baltimore, Md.; Christopher Catucci of Baltimore; Scott Leone of Manchester (cousin of the groom) and Jason Leone of Chester (cousin of the groom).

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Dunkirk High School and a 2005 graduate of Jamestown Community College with a degree in Human Services. She is employed as a preschool teacher at Celebree Learning Centers in Westminster, Md.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Fredonia High School and is a Lieutenant with the Baltimore City Fire Dept. in Baltimore.

The couple is at home in Hanover, Pa.

Christine Barbara Beichner and John Kenneth Miller were united in marriage on Nov. 7, 2015 at the Jamestown Train Station. Judge Marilyn Gerace was the officiant. Molly and the Lavender Kings were the wedding musicians.

The bride is the daughter of John and Eileen Beichner of Sinclairville. The groom is the son of John Miller and Doreen Miller of Sinclairville and Faith Miller of Lily Dale. Erika and David Abram of Cassadaga and Theodore (Bud) and Yolanda Beichner of Sinclairville are the bride’s grandparents. The groom’s grandparents are Marlen and Myrna Miller of Sarasota, Fla. and Shelba Klinginsmith of Springville,

The bride wore a polished and elegant Galliano strapless trumpet dress with a sweetheart neckline in champagne, ivory, and gold. The dress had 5 layers, each a thin layer of lace and beading. The bride’s attendants included matron of honor Jenny Beichner; bridesmaids Erika Beichner, Paula DeJoy, Stephanie Arnold, Michelle Salisbury, and Caitlin Beuhler and flower girl Harmony Trotter. Two miniature dachshund were the ring bearers: Willie Von Wiener Schnitzel and Sir Sammy Sausage. Attending the groom were best man Jeff Kelley and groomsmen Jason Beichner, Collin Beichner, Ian Adelstien, and Jake Pessia. Marygrace Guarino was Mistress of Ceremony.

The bride graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School, went on to earn her BA in English and Education at St. Bonaventure University, and her Master’s at SUNY Fredonia. She currently teaches English at Southwestern High School as well as directing the SW High School musicals. She also works as the Head Tour Guide and a bartender at Southern Tier Brewing Company.

The groom was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School and went on to wrestle at JCC and UB, earning his BA at Medaille College. He is currently employed by the NY Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant.

The bride and groom went on a Holland American Cruise to Puerto Rico, Bahamas, St. Thomas, and Grand Turks where they enjoyed beautiful scuba diving

The couple is at home in Jamestown.

Josiah A. Melendez and Stephanie Dianne Chavez were united in marriage in an outdoor civil ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 in Valle de Angeles, Honduras, followed on Sunday, Nov. 29, by a religious ceremony and wedding reception at Casa Blanca-le decor, Santa Lucia, Honduras.

Josiah is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jose R. Melendez of Portland, N.Y., who attended the civil ceremony via FaceTime. Dianne is the daughter of Sra. Marienela Salgado Cerrato and Sr. Miguel O. Chavez Varela, both of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Attending the bride and groom were Nemecio and Arianna (Melendez) Aguilar of Clayton, N.C.; Omar Chavez and Nicole Banegas of Tegucigalpa; Aaron and Evelyn (Chavez) Boyce of Valle de Angeles; Jude and Pamela (Chavez) Billinghurst, also of Valle de Angles. Breanna Boyce, the bride’s niece, was flower girl. Mr. Grant Fisher of Randolph, N.Y. performed the religious ceremony on Sunday before approximately 100 guests from Honduras and the United States.

The bride wore a bright yellow, street length, sleeveless dress for the civil ceremony. The groom wore a gray suit and a deep yellow tie. The ceremony was followed by a sit down reception for 25 family and close friends. For the formal religious ceremony on Sunday, the bride wore a pale ivory, applique lace over net, sleeveless gown with a sweetheart neckline and trumpet skirt. A belt with a jeweled buckle made by the bride and a simple, lace-edged chapel length veil completed her ensemble. She carried a nosegay of ivory roses accented by a single yellow rose. The bride’s attendants wore mint green chiffon dresses in the style of their choice. They carried mini-bouquets of either ivory or yellow roses. The flower girl, dressed in yellow, carried a basket of rose petals that were tossed in the aisle before the bride. The groom and his attendants dressed in gray suits, mint green ties, yellow boutonnieres and, as a final whimsical touch, crazy-colored striped socks.

Dianne graduated in 2009 from the Instituto Hondureno de Cultura Interamericana in Tegucigalpa. She is an instructor at Active English, a school for English as a second language in Valle de Angeles. Josiah is a graduate of Brocton Central School. He obtained his Associates in Science Communications from JCC in 2009. He is a certified court interpreter for the State of North Carolina. Josiah and Dianne currently serve as full-time ministers for Jehovah’s Witnesses in San Juancito, Honduras.

After honeymooning in Roatan, Honduras, the couple are at home in Valle de Angeles. They will be returning temporarily to the United States in 2016.

Justin Corey and Jessica Kordon were married July 10, 2015 at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville. Rev. Dr. J. Paul Womack performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Phillip and Mary Kordon of Forestville. The bridegroom is the son of Michael and Laura Corey of Jamestown.

The bride was escorted by her father and attended by her sister, Allyssa Kordon, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Bixby, Catherine Konieczny, Kendra Corey and Caysee Sheridan. The best man was Jacob Klau. Joseph Caldiero and Jackson Nolloth served as ushers.

The bride is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She is employed by Chautauqua County. The groom earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY Fredonia and is employed by WCA Hospital.

The couple will honeymoon in St. Croix, USVI and live in Dunkirk.

Lindsay Thompson and Andy Scott were united in marriage on July 25, 2015 at Sunshine Valley Gardens in Piedmont, S.D. The ceremony was officiated by Jesse Hamer, friend of the couple. The bride is the daughter of Daniel and Patricia Thompson of Portland, N.Y., and the groom is the son of Dean and Kathy Scott of Rapid City, S.D.

The bride wore a strapless, ivory, tea-length gown, accented with a bodice of embellished tulle. She complimented her dress with a jeweled bouquet of red and white roses, peonies, baby’s breath, and dusty miller, hand-tied with gray satin ribbon. The bride was escorted by her father.

Tara Jakse, sister of the bride, served as matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids included Laura Scott, sister of the groom, as well as Myrna Becker, Christie Green, and Jessica Johnson, friends of the bride. Each attendant wore a cherry colored knee-length dress, of varying styles, and carried ivory bouquets, similar to the bride’s.

Travis Wisenbarger, friend of the groom, served as the best man. Brandon Glen, Tim Beck, and Josh Embree, friends of the groom, served as groomsmen.

Rylan Jakse, niece of the bride, was the flower girl, and Elliott Jakse, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

A reception immediately followed at Minerva’s Restaurant, Ramkota Inn, where the happy couple was able to toast their vows, along with their family and friends. Attendees of the wedding travelled from New York, Texas, Virginia, Florida, California, and South Dakota.

The couple resides in Box Elder, S.D., where the bride teaches music. She is a graduate of Brocton Central High School and earned her Master’s degree at the SUNY College in Fredonia. The groom graduated from Central High School in Rapid City, S.D., attended SDSU, and is employed by DC Scott Surveyors. They recently returned from their honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
