Area police — July 22

Three charged in Silver Creek, Sheridan vehicle larcenies

Three people — a Silver Creek man, a 17-year-old and a juvenile — have been arrested in connection with a number of vehicle larcenies that occurred earlier this month in the town of Sheridan and village of Silver Creek.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies allege that on July 14, the three individuals entered three vehicles taking money, pills and a debit card. Michael A. Vanschaick, 31, was charged with a felony conspiracy charge and endangering the welfare of a child in each location due to him acting with a juvenile to commit these crimes.

The male and 17-year-old female are to be in both the town of Sheridan court and Village of Silver Creek court at a later date to answer the charges. The juvenile will be petitioned to the Chautauqua County Family Court to answer the complaint filed.
