Cattaraugus County roads closed starting today

The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works will be closing the intersection of County Road 57 (Cottage-Markham Road) and Bentley Road in the town of Dayton for reconstruction. This closure will take place today and will reopen on Sept. 1.

Dunkirk garden walk set for July 9

Get ready to see some growing at the Dunkirk Garden Delights 2017 Garden Walk on Sunday, July 9.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to the community. Information and maps will be available on the day of the walk at the Dunkirk High School Bicentennial Park on Sixth Street.

The walk is sponsored by the Academy Heights Neighborhood Association.

Berry Road work planned

Railroad crews will be making repairs to the Berry Road crossing in the town of Pomfret starting Sunday. Berry Road will be closed to all traffic at the crossing until Thursday. A detour will not be posted.

Chicken barbecue tickets available

The Dunkirk Softball chicken barbecue will take place at noon Sunday, July 16 at Promenschenkel Stadium. Funds raised from the sale benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County. Presale tickets are available by calling 366-1061, through Monday. About 100 walk-up chicken dinners will be available until they are sold out on the day of the event.
