Pomfret Planning Board meeting rescheduled

The town of Pomfret Planning Board hearing (#07-17) scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. has been postponed. Rescheduling will be announced at a later date.

Pomfret ZBA to meet Tuesday

The town of Pomfret ZBA will meet on Tuesday for the continuance of hearing #04-17, originally scheduled for June 6, 2017. This meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall, 9 Day St., Fredonia. The hearing will address an Area Variance Application for property located at 10350 Bennett Road.

AARP Driver Safety Classes scheduled

Shirley Erbsmehl, instructor, has scheduled the following AARP Driver Safety Classes:

Monday, Sept. 18 and Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. both days at Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St.

Monday, Oct. 16 and Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. both days at Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St.

Monday, Nov. 20 and Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. both days at Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St.

Attendance is required both days. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members, payable only by check or money order made out to AARP. Anyone 18 and older with a valid NYS license may enroll. Attendance both days will result in a discount on auto insurance or point reduction. The AARP certificate is valid for three years. Bridge closing brings detour

DAYTON — The Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works will be closing County Road 57 (Cottage-Markhams Road), 400 feet northwest of Hall Road, in the town of Dayton On Monday for the replacement of Dayton bridge 11 for one week. A detour will be posted.

Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet Sept. 14

The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet this Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Cassadaga Library, 18 Maple St. Input is needed by community members. Come be a part of positive change for the village.

Land Bank meeting Wednesday

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corp. will hold its next Acquisition and Disposition at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Main Conference Room of the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk, with the monthly board meeting immediately following at 9 a.m.

The board meeting of the CCLBC is being conducted to discuss business associated with the acquisition and potential sale of property by CCLBC and other official business as required. Agendas will be provided at the meetings. The press, public and other stakeholders are welcome to attend.

Dunkirk Picnic at the Point set at Point Gratiot for today

The Dunkirk Picnic at the Point, will be held at Point Gratiot today from 1 to 7 p.m. Free hamburgers and hot dogs will be available until gone. The event includes basket raffle fun, 50/50 and music by “No Limit” from 1 to 4 p.m. and “La Krema” from 4 to 7 p.m.

Priest Appreciation Dinner set

for Sept. 17

The 19th Annual Priest Appreciation Dinner will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Holy Trinity Church, Msgr. Bernardo Hall, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. This annual event honors priests, deacons, religious sisters and seminarians for their service to the Church and the community.
